About Ronpal
Founded in 1991, Ronpal was built around a simple idea: develop smart, practical agricultural solutions that work in real field conditions—reliably, sustainably, and over time.
In the early 1990s, Mediterranean fruit fly damage posed a major challenge to growers. Most available solutions relied on frequent spraying or complex programs that demanded constant presence in the orchard—often unrealistic at the time due to limited labor availability and recurring reserve duty obligations. Ronpal identified the need for a long-term, low-maintenance alternative.
That insight led to the development of Furtect—a passive, non-spray control device designed to operate continuously throughout the season without weekly intervention. At the time, Ronpal was the first company worldwide to offer a solution for Mediterranean fruit fly control that did not rely on spraying or sterile male techniques. Furtect was later patented in multiple countries and remains commercially active today, evolving alongside modern agricultural needs.
As the market matured, competitors emerged, and today millions of control devices are deployed annually in Israel alone—an entire category that grew from those early innovations.
Agricultural solutions and development
Alongside insect control, Ronpal expanded into mineral-based crop protection solutions, focused on reducing heat stress, lowering canopy temperatures, and protecting plants from sun damage and pests. The company’s product portfolio includes:
Tsalkor – greenhouse shading solutions, available in powder and paste formulations
Shalgaz – trunk and plant protection against sunburn, suitable for spraying or brushing on exposed trunks, young trees, and grafts
Hadran – a professional pruning paste designed for heavy pruning and grafting, particularly in deciduous crops and citrus
Years of development and innovation
In 2011, Ronpal introduced Lurtect, a new trap system for Mediterranean fruit fly control, while adapting Furtect for effective use against olive fly. These solutions have since been implemented across a wide range of crops throughout Israel.
In 2018, Ronpal took on a new challenge: developing a locally produced, long-lasting attractant to replace imported alternatives. After years of development, testing, and field validation, the new attractant—Sustain—received official regulatory approval at the end of 2025.
2026 marks a key milestone: the first commercial season of Sustain attractants manufactured in Ronpal’s own facilities. When integrated into the Lurtect trap, the solution is marketed in collaboration with ADAMA.
Today, Ronpal combines decades of hands-on experience with continuous innovation—delivering simple, effective, and proven solutions for modern agriculture, designed to perform in the field and endure into the future.
